Torrential rains force mass evacuations in east China's Jiangxi

      Since May 3, torrential rains have been battering many parts of east China's Jiangxi Province, triggering floods. According to the provincial emergency management department, from May 5 to 16:00 on May 7, the heavy precipitation has affected 497,000 people, and a total of 14,000 people were evacuated. China's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters launched a level-IV emergency response for flood control on May 6. Rescue operations are underway.
