How did rural SW China's medical system prepare for COVID surge, Spring Festival?

      Bazhong, a fifth-tier city in southwest China, saw a surge of COVID-19 patients in late December. Villagers and medical staff in rural clinics, township health centers and hospitals have made great efforts to save lives over the past three years. Ahead of the Spring Festival, authorities provided more medical staff, hospital beds, equipment for ICUs and vehicles for transferring patients in grassroots areas.
