China-funded hydropower project eases power shortage in Nepal

      The Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station is funded and operated by PowerChina Resources Ltd. in western #Nepal. Construction of the run-of-river power station, which has an installed capacity of 50MW, began in January 2013. It went into commercial operation in January 2017 and had produced electricity totaling two billion kilowatt hours by November 16, 2022. The broader project also involves 200 sub-projects, through which the company executes its corporate social responsibilities.
