From poverty to prosperity – A tour of China's Miao ethnic minority life deep in the mountains

      A banquet with long tables, drum shows and embroidery of the Miao ethnic minority – this is what you can see in central China's Shibadong Village in Hunan Province. The village gained its fame as being the birthplace of China's campaign of "targeted poverty alleviation" since 2013. China eradicated extreme poverty nationwide in 2020, and lifted about 100 million people above the poverty line in the past decade. CGTN's He Weiwei and Tang Bo take you on a tour inside the mountainous village to experience the Miao tradition, and get to know how villagers' lives have improved.
